Each student gets exposed to upcoming technology trends in Singapore. They have a chance to network with local start-ups and understand their founding stories. Students will also develop the design thinking methodology through the workshop.

2

Students get exposed to the various aspects of the Lean Startup methodology and understand the basics of rapid prototyping. They have a chance to tinker with Arduino kits, simple and powerful devices used to construct electronic prototypes. An Arduino is similar to a small computer which can interact with the world through sensors, lights, and motors. It can be used to build interesting products such as 3D printers, robot cars, weather forecast systems amongst many more.

3

Through an engaging, interactive and hands-on workshop where students will understand the basics of Arduino programming. At the end of the workshop, all the students will be able to build an Arduino project that can impact society. They can then move on to solve real-world problems in society.

Build Arduino Project

Arduino technology is used to:

  • Develop

  • Teach and learn

  • Play

What is  Arduino?

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for anyone making interactive projects.

Gear Up with the Startup Toolkit

GELI prepares students to be the next-generation CEOs and entrepreneurs. Students go through a thoughtfully designed curriculum with an entrepreneurship focus. They learn to leverage each of the 9 gears from Gear Up: Test Your Business Model Potential and Plan Your Path to Success and get lectured by the author of the book Dr.Tom Kosnik. They learn the “user-centric design” of the innovation. They practice the rules of thumb of evaluating and entering new markets. Most importantly, at the end of the program GELI students showcase their new-born ventures by pitching to a panel of serial entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, Stanford and Harvard Business School lecturers, successful alumni from their schools, and venture investors from Silicon Valley and China.
